The quality of the final project is directly influenced by the quality of the engineered drawings the project is constructed from. Hunt Engineering produces quality work that stands the test of time. We also have the skills and ability to support our design throughout the public bid and construction process to help ensure the delivered project meets the original design. We understand the responsibility the owner has in coordinating with and communicating with all stake holders in the project. Port of Seattle (SeaTac Airport)

2nd Floor HVAC Upgrade: Working directly for the Port, Hunt Engineering provided prime consultant and mechanical & electrical engineering design on a capital project to modify existing HVAC infrastructure to increase capacity in the Central Terminal by 20,000 CFM. This project involved routing very large ductwork through multiple tenant spaces, coordinating significant load-bearing structural modifications and partially rebuilding an operating air handling unit without interrupting service. (2009)

Other Projects: Hunt Engineering has completed additional projects as part of On-Call Engineering Services provided for the Port of Seattle and has completed over 150 Port approved projects for other tenants at SeaTac airport including food-service, shipping facilities, retail & office spaces, car rental operations, and airline operations in secure & non-secure areas.

Clallam County

Clallam County Courthouse Central Plant Update: The basis of this project was to upgrade the central heating and cooling plant for the Clallam county courthouse building, built in 1976, which included county offices, jail, courthouse and operational support centers, and was approximately 140,000 square feet. The project provided replacement of the 420 kW boiler which was failing, decoupled domestic water heating and provided separate boiler for domestic water heating.  Additionally, the project replaced the DDC control system, added chiller buffer tank, and relocated cooler tower basin to indoors. Clallam County Courthouse Emergency Operation Center Antenna Replacement and Grounding Improvements: The basis of this project was electrical service and distribution switchboard replacements and radio systems antenna and cabling replacements for the Clallam county courthouse building, approximately 140,000 square feet. The project included the replacement of electrical service and distribution switchboards for both normal and emergency power, replacement of antenna systems for Emergency Operations Center, and grounding improvements at the Courthouse Complex.  Institutional nature project, 24×7 operation (data center and county jail), electrical systems, re-model of existing facility, public bid and field work. Clallam County Courthouse Data Center HVAC and Fire Detection/Protection Upgrades: Hunt Engineering provided Data Center improvements including HVAC improvements, cold aisle containment and improved sealing of the raised floor, CCTV equipment room cooling at jail, Gas fire protection system upgrades for Data Room and Telephone Room. Seattle Parks

West Seattle Stadium: Hunt Engineering provided plumbing, mechanical, and electrical engineering for ADA upgrades and improvements for new locker rooms and bathrooms at the West Seattle Stadium, working with design2Last. (2018)

Southwest Community Center: Working with design2Last, Hunt Engineering provided plumbing engineering for new showers and bathrooms for the Community Center ADA remodel. (2017)

Kitsap County Fire Departments:

Fire Station 56: Kitsap County Fire Department Fire Station 56, a 15-year-old building located in Seabeck, WA, required a complete HVAC system replacement to resolve multiple design and construction failures.  Working with Coates Design, Hunt Engineering services included site investigation, detailed facility report, test and measurement verification, new system design with heat recovery, and extensive construction administrative services.   (2015)

Fire Station 23: Working with Coates Design, Hunt Engineering proved mechanical and electrical engineering for the Fire Department Apparatus Bay Expansion at Bainbridge Island Fire Department Station 23. Services included ventilation system upgrade and MageGrip vehicle exhaust system expansion and upgrade. (2016)

City of Port Angeles

City of Port Angeles Data Center Renovation and Emergency Power Upgrade: Working with Lindberg Smith Architects, Hunt Engineering provided mechanical & electrical engineering design to renovate cooling systems for the City Hall data centers and upgrade emergency power systems. Cooling system upgrades included new HVAC for the Computer Room, Police Department Radio Data Room and 911 Call Center Data Room. Emergency power system upgrades included studying the Critical Operations Power System for the 911 and Emergency Preparedness Centers, splitting the life safety branch and optional power branch for the building emergency power system and modifying the electrical services to accept a larger emergency generator. City of Bellevue

Bellevue Service Center: Working directly for the City, Hunt Engineering provided mechanical & electrical engineering design for an HVAC upgrade to the City of Bellevue Service Center. This project included replacing 20 rooftop units, adding cooling to many parts of this 130 thousand square foot facility and close coordination with the structural engineer to reuse existing rooftop equipment structural bracing for the new units. Historical Building Renovations for King County, Enumclaw and Thurston County

Hunt Engineering, working for architects John Koppe and Bob Wagoner, provided mechanical and electrical consulting on multiple projects involving modernizations of historical log buildings built in the 1930s. These separate projects all involved similar buildings approximately 17,000 sf each. Our scope of services were different for each facility but included: Facility assessment, Boiler replacement, HVAC replacement, Lighting upgrades, intercom and fire alarm upgrades and power distribution.
