Port of Seattle

In regards to the Port of Seattle at SeaTac Airport, Hunt Engineering has worked on over 150 projects since 2004.  These projects include a wide range of projects from multi-firm/multi-team projects, to small and large tenant projects, to prime work directly for the Port of Seattle. In the last 3 years Hunt Engineering has been involved in over 70 projects at SeaTac. Hunt Engineering understands the growth that the Airport is experiencing and brings phenomenal expertise to working in this challenging environment.

Southwest Airlines Ramp Operations Remodel:

Southwest Airlines at SeaTac Airport required expanded locker rooms for ramp workers to allow for increased workforce.  Working with Tran Systems, Hunt Engineering provided MEP and communications cabling engineering for this project.  In addition to design services, and permit and construction documents, Hunt Engineering provided bid support and construction administration services.  (2016)

Wolfgang Puck:

Wolfgang Puck is well known for their fine dining and fresh food. Their 4,000 sf location at SeaTac is located on Concourse C by gate 8, and seats 160. This express service restaurant has a pizza oven and display cook-line, where the preparation of the food is just across the counter. Hunt Engineering provided full mechanical and electrical engineering for this facility, as well as the design for utility routing and connections beyond the lease line into the Port of Seattle infrastructure.

HMS Host General Offices:

This facility provides the administrative support for HMS Host’s many restaurants at SeaTac Airport. This new 2,500 square foot TI project included the complex coordination and utility connection requirements of working at a major airport. Hunt Engineering provided mechanical and electrical and communication systems engineering working with SCMA Architects. (2010)

Southwest Airlines Glycol Tank Replacement:

Hunt Engineering was the prime project manager and mechanical designer for the replacement of a glycol tank and the addition of a water fill station at SeaTac airport for Southwest Airlines.  This tank was a 12,000 gallon single wall tank with new double wall tank and new utility connections, and was located at the south end of the airfield. Café Floret:

Café Floret is a new subsidiary of Café Flora, a well-known restaurant in the Madison Valley business district of Seattle focusing on vegetarian options.  Hunt Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communications systems design for this 1,800 square foot full service restaurant at SeaTac airport. Starbucks:

Starbucks is a Seattle staple providing high quality coffee and espresso to customers around the world.  Hunt Engineering provided MEP and communications design for multiple Starbucks locations within SeaTac airport of varying square footage; 836 sf, 1,002 sf and 1,617 sf. (2016)

Car Rental Center Fiber Extension:

Hunt Engineering extended the fiber optic to multiple data closets and terminal locations throughout the car rental facility to allow expansion of the fiber backbone.  (2018)

Beecher’s Cheese:

A Seattle original, Beecher’s artisan cheese kitchen is located in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Beecher’s opened a Deli and Cheese shop in Concourse C, at SeaTac airport. Hunt Engineering furnished mechanical & electrical engineering design services for this 1,200 sf restaurant and deli at SeaTac airport. (2012)

2nd Floor HVAC Upgrade:

Working directly for the Port, Hunt Engineering provided prime consultant and mechanical & electrical engineering design on a capital project to modify existing HVAC infrastructure to increase capacity in the Central Terminal by 20,000 CFM. This project involved routing very large ductwork through multiple tenant spaces, coordinating significant load-bearing structural modifications and partially rebuilding an operating air handling unit without interrupting service. Delta ATO Relocation Project:

Delta Airlines required services for the remodeling of approximately 11,300 square feet of main terminal mezzanine space in order to accommodate an ATO, training room, locker room/ break room, and station administration offices.  Hunt Engineering provided MEP engineering services for this TI project. (2014)

Rel’Lish:

Rel’Lish Burger Lounge is a full service restaurant located at Concourse B within SeaTac airport, featuring handcrafted burgers and a unique array of salads.  Hunt Engineering provided MEP engineering for this 2,139 square foot TI space. (2016)

Hudson News:

Hudson Group has been established for over twenty-five years as a leading travel retail chain.  Hunt Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, and communication systems engineering for multiple Hudson News retail spaces of varying square footage within SeaTac airport.  These retail locations were new TI spaces.  Services for these projects included Port F&I submittals, permitting, bid and construction, and demolition plans in addition to engineering design services.  (2016)

Alaska Airlines STIA Flight Ops/ Station Ops Realignment:

Hunt Engineering provided electrical engineering services at SeaTac International Airport for the Alaska Airlines Flight Operations/ Station Operations Realignment.  This project included approximately 5,500 sf at Concourse D, approximately 3,900 sf at Concourse C, and a C Mezzanine Lounge.  (2014)

Evergreen Salads:

Evergreen Salads provides healthy food options for diners at SeaTac Central Terminal. Hunt Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and communications systems design for the 1,000 square foot restaurant. (2017)

Fireworks:

Fireworks Gallery is a gift store featuring over 300 nationally and internationally acclaimed artisans and studios.  Starting in Pioneer Square, Seattle, Fireworks has grown to include eight stores in the greater Seattle/Bellevue area.  These include three locations within SeaTac Airport.  Hunt Engineering provided mechanical, electrical and communications systems engineering for two Firework locations in SeaTac Airport.   These projects were in new TI spaces, with one shop approximately 2,815 sf and the other approximately 800 sf.  The architect for this project was Chin-Ley/Reche Associates.  (2016)

United Airlines Flight Operations Lounge:

Hunt Engineering provided mechanical, electrical and communications systems engineering for the United Airlines Flight Operations Lounge and Workstations at SeaTac airport in Concourse A.  Services included Port F&I submittals, permitting and construction, in addition to demolition drawings and construction administration.  (2015)

Cafe D’arte:

Cafe D’arte is a premium coffee shop with food located at the new North Star Satellite addition of SeaTac airport.  Hunt Engineering provided the project design, with services including a full service kitchen with type 1 grease hood, lighting and controls, HVAC load studies and design, and extensive coordination with Port of Seattle utilities.  (2018)

Delta Ramp Operations Renovation:

Hunt Engineering furnished engineering design for HVAC and plumbing revisions for the Delta Ramp Operations Renovation in the SeaTac airport south satellite building.    This project included the renovation of multiple break rooms as well as locker rooms and restrooms. (2012)

Pallino:

Hunt Engineering provided electrical design for a full service restaurant in the central terminal food court at SeaTac Airport, including lighting, power, and communications.  The design included electrical controls for type 1 (grease hood) shutdown.  (2019)
